Welcome to Vasanta Vihar, the home of J. Krishnamurti. It is the headquarters of KFI and a Retreat and Study Centre in the spirit and intention of which is best spelt out in his own words.
The ashram strives hard to preserve the surroundings. Hundreds of visitors are given accommodations so that they may practice the teachings in the vicinity of the sacred shrine hallowed by His continued presence. Ashram provides vegetarian meals to several hundreds of visitors daily. The publication department releases books in many languages which contain the authentic teaching of the sage.
Shree Nisargadatta Adhyatma Kendra Trust was formed in the presence of Shree Nisargadatta Maharaj. Since then the trust regulates all the functions held in the Ashram. Maharaj’s Samadhi is located in Dahisar, Mumbai. In this place, people worship daily for meditation and bhajans.
The Ashram is located in the eastern part of Pondicherry. Inmates live and work in a number of buildings spread throughout the area. The focus of community life is the Ashram main building, usually called simply "the Ashram", which consists of an interconnected block of houses, including those in which Sri Aurobindo and the Mother lived for most of their lives.
Bodhi Zendo is a Zen training center in South India’s Perumal Hills and a meeting point of spiritual interested people coming from all over the world. Here, Bodhi Sangha, an international community, are gathering.
The main Study Centre building has a unique architectural design. Shaped like a twelve-petal lotus, the building exudes serenity and a special atmosphere. A spacious hall of twelve sides surrounded by a wide veranda on all sides is an ideal location for deep study. The hall serves as the main library, audio-video viewing and sitting in silence.
The ashram seeks to be a place of meeting for Hindus and Christians and people of all religions or none, who are genuinely seeking God. For this purpose guest houses have been built, where both men and women can be accommodated for retreat, recollection and for religious dialogue and discussion. There is a good library, which is intended to serve as a study centre.
Auroville wants to be a universal town where men and women of all countries are able to live in peace and progressive harmony above all creeds, all politics and all nationalities. The purpose of Auroville is to realise human unity.
We practice an eco-friendly way of life including: veganism, alternative construction, solar energy, biodegradable toiletries, recycling, food composting, riding bicycles, compost toilets, and purchasing local, organic foods whenever possible.
The Krishnamurti Study Centre at Rishi Valley welcomes visitors who are interested in the different aspects of Krishnamurti's teachings. There are facilities for studying the philosophical implications of Krishnamurti's teachings, and for exploring their impact in the areas of education. The Centre also provides space for quiet reflection.
The Study is placed in a quiet side of the Valley, a lush green land of 100 acres. Set in a place of great natural beauty and silence, the Study offers a simple and austere way of living for seekers of truth.
The Study Centre is based on the vision of J. Krishnamurti and inspired by the statements he made about his teachings. He wished to bring about Centres where people could go and stay to study the teachings without any organised programmes, and with only their own seriousness to guide them.
The Retreat Centre (KRC) is located on the banks of the river Bhagirathi in Dunda, about 15km from Uttarkashi. When travelling to this destination, one finds oneself on the ancient pilgrim route from Rishikesh to Gomukh, the origin of the river Ganga.
